Pop.up is the first modular, all electric, zero emission concept vehicle system launched by Italdesign and Airbus at the 87th Geneva International Auto Show on March 7, 2017. The purpose is to introduce a new concept of user centered transportation system through a new flexible, shared and adaptable urban transportation mode, so that passengers can have more time again. Pop.up combines the flexibility of small two seater vehicles on the ground with the free travel and fast speed of VTOL, and also connects the automobile and aviation fields.

When there is a high traffic jam in a super large city, the capsule cabin can be separated from the ground module and propelled by a 5x4.4m air module with eight counter rotating propellers. In this configuration, pop. Up becomes an urban self driving vehicle, which can effectively use the third dimension from point a to point B, while avoiding the congested ground traffic. It is designed to meet the needs of passengers. This high-tech single shell capsule cabin is made of carbon fiber composite material, 2.6 meters long, 1.4 meters high and 1.5 meters wide.
